Okay! I want to know. Now what?

"Okay. You've convinced me. I want to know what's in my criminal background. Now what?"

Well... like just about everything else in this world, it depends. We can help you if you answer a couple of questions for us. What kind of information are you looking for? Do you know where the offense occurred?

We currently offer a county level criminal, statewide criminal, National Criminal Record Index (NCRI), sex offender registry, federal criminal, Global Check (terrorist watchlist), debarment, and professional licensing search. We intend to expand to vital records, marriage and divorce, voter registration, and phone and email searches in the future. All of these different services (or, if you will, investigative tools) can help you find information in different ways. If you want to know the details of what happened when you got a DUI three years ago, a different product may be right for you than if you are about to get set up on a blind date with your friend's coworker's cousin. Let's talk about our services and what they offer. The county-level criminal record search is a criminal record search of the last seven years that includes most felonies and misdemeanors. If you're arrested by your local police and charged with a crime, a case is filed at your local county courthouse. Whether or not you end up being convicted of anything, or even if the state decides not to prosecute, there is still a record on file with the county. A county criminal record search is just that - a search of all criminal records held in that county. This search is a search of where the record actually originates. A statewide search, where available, is a search of a database maintained by a state agency. Sounds great, right? It can be! But the state can't force every county to report all of their information, and even if a county does report to the state, that does not mean it is updated regularly. While a statewide search is a great place to start, especially if you don't know what you're looking for and want to cast a wider net, the county-level search is going to have the most accurate and up-to-date information as well as the greatest availability of information. But if you don't know where to start, a statewide criminal record search or NCRI, the National Criminal Record Index, which is a nationwide search criminal databases not maintained by a government agency, can help you figure out where to begin and where to request a more in-depth record search. So, again, like anything - it depends! But if you have an idea of what you're looking for and where it happened, request a search of the county where the offense occurred to get the most accurate and up-to-date information. If you don't know where the offense occurred (or even if there was one, to begin with) cast a wider net, such as with a statewide criminal record search (where available) or a search of the NCRI. Whatever you need or whatever you're curious about, www.checkmycriminal.com has access to the resources to get you the information you want.
